Bryden Craig Wilkins, professionally known as Bescenta, is a Jamaican reggae artist celebrated for his socially conscious lyrics and soulful melodies. Born on April 12, 1975, in the Salisbury Plain area near Stony Hill, St. Andrew, Jamaica, Bescenta's early life was rooted in a community rich in cultural heritage. He attended Almond Hill All Age School, then Oberlin High School, and later graduated from St. Andrew Technical High School (S.T.A.T.H.S) in Kingston.
Before fully committing to music, Bescenta trained as an electrician and undertook various jobs, including house painting, to support himself. However, his passion for music remained unwavering. Following this success, Bescenta continued to produce music that resonated with audiences both locally and internationally. His notable singles include "Can You Handle It?," which charted in New York and Mexico, "Mama Told Me," and "Universal Love," which found popularity in Japan and Europe.
Bescenta's music is characterized by its commitment to themes of love, peace, and social awareness, reflecting his dedication to using music as a tool for positive change.
